Perception and Connection: Solo Thesis Exhibition

The natural world exists as a web of connections spun from threads of infinite interactions.  Each organism, living and nonliving, forms the earth that allows us, as people, to thrive within it.  I have grown in the mountainous woods, rippling creeks, and inviting forests; and in the quiet ocean, docile sounds, and canopies alive with calls I cannot understand.  Every day I am more aware of myself becoming engrossed in and enamored of the natural world and its balanced, unified systems.  Now, I intentionally seek to witness and to marvel at these interactions, some of which I understand, and some which fascinate me because they cannot be understood.  My work examines these threads of connection and interactions through use of cut paper and printed ink work.  It is my depiction of my perceptions of the natural world, appreciation of its complexity, and desire to find my place in its intricate web.
